Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements

Social housing providers have a target set by UK government to achieve a minimum EPC rating of C for rented properties by 2035 (2030 for “fuel poor” households). Furthermore, properties with an EPC rating below E are considered substandard and cannot be let unless exempt.

As a landlord you should:

  • Provide tenants with a valid EPC, obtained before the property is marketed for rent.
  • The EPC must be made available, free of charge to prospective tenants.

HouseTag ensures you can evidence compliance. Simply upload the certificates onto the property portal and the latest certificate will always be available to the home-users. Prospective tenants can view the certificate by scanning the tag whilst viewing the property or be emailed a direct link.
