Portal LoginThe Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 state that landlords must keep gas appliances, pipework and flues safe. Part of this involves getting a new gas safety certificate for the property each year.
As a landlord you should:
- Provide a copy of the certificate to each existing tenant of the residential premises within 28 days of issue.
- Keep a copy of the gas safety certificate for at least two years.
- Issue a copy the latest gas safety certificate to any new residents when they move in.
